1st 1951

 Amended Art. 19 – New grounds of restriction. Inserted Arts. 31A and 31B and 9th Schedule – Protection to land reform laws.

2nd 1952

 Re-adjusted the scale or representation of election to the Lok Sabha.

3rd  1954

Substituted Entry 33 of List III (Concurrent List) of 7th Schedule to correspond to Art. 369.

4th 1955  Amended Ars. 31(2), 31A, 305. Six Acts included in 9th Schedule.
5th 1955

 Amended Art. 3 – Formation of new States and alteration of areas, boundaries or names of existing States.

6th 1956

 Amended Arts. 269, 286 – Entry 92A added to the Union List of 7th Schedule.

7th 1956

To give effect to the recommendation of the State Re-organisation Commission.

8th 1960 

Amended Art. 34 – Extending the period of reservation of seats and special representation for SC/ST.

9th 1960

To effect the transfer of certain territories to Pakistan in view of Supreme Court judgment in “Berubari union Case”. 

10th 1961

 Amended Art. 240 and 1st Schedule – Included areas of Dadra and Nagar Haveli as U.T.

12th 1962 Amended Art. 240 – Included Goa, Daman and Diu as a U.T.
13th 1962

Amended Art. 371A – Special provision with respect to the State of Nagaland.

14th 1962 Amended 1st Schedule – Included Pondicherry as a U.T.
15th 1963 Amended Art. 226 – Power of High Courts to issue certain Writs.
16th 1963  Amended Art. 19 – Protection of certain rights regarding freedom of speech, etc.
17th  1964  Amended Art. 31A – Saving of laws providing for acquisition of estates, etc.

19th 1966  Amended Art. 324 – Superintendence, direction and control of elections to be vested in an Election Commission.
20th 1966 Added a new Art. 233A to validate certain appointments of Distt.Judges by Governor of U.P.
21st 1967 Amended 8th Schedule – Included Sindhi language.
22nd 1969  Enacted to facilitate the formation of a new autonomous State of Meghalaya within State of Assam.
23rd 1969  Amended Art. 334 – Extending the period of restriction of seats and special representation for SC/ST.
24th 1971  Amended Arts. 13 and 368 in the wake of Supreme Court verdict in “Golakhnath’s Case”.
25th 1971 Further amended Art. 31 in the wake of “Bank Nationalisation Case”.
26th 1971  Abolished the privy and privileges of the former rulers of Indian States in the wake of S.C. verdict in “Madhav Rao’s Case”.
27th 1971  Inserted a new Art. 239B – Power of administrator to promulgate Ordinances during recess of Legislature.
28th 1972  Abolished the Special privileges of the members of I.C.S.
29th 1972  Amended 9th Schedule – Included two Kerala enactments on land reforms.
30th 1972  Amended Art. 133 – Appellate jurisdiction of Supreme Court in appeals from High Courts in regard to Civil matters.
31st 1973 Inter alia raised the upper limit for the representation of States in Lok Sabha from 500 to 525 and reduced the same for U.T. from 25 to 20.
32nd 1973 Inter alia provided for the Constitution of an Administrative Tribunal.
33rd 1974 Amended Arts. 101 & 190.
34th 1974  Amended 9th Schedule – Included twenty more land tenure and land reform laws enacted by various State Legislatures.
35th 1974 Amended Arts. 80 & 81 – New Art. 2A and 10th Schedule added.
36th 1975 Art. 2A and 10th Schedule omitted. Art. 80 & 81 suitably amended. Amended 1st Schedule – included State of Sikkim.
37th 1975  Amended Art. 240.

39th 1975 Certain Central enactments included in 9th Schedule. Disputes relating to the election of President, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Speaker to be determined by such authority as may be determined by Parliamentary Law.
40th 1976  Provided for vesting in the Union of all mines, minerals and other things of value laying in the ocean within the territorial waters and limits thereof. Some enactments added to 9th Schedule.

76th 1994 Item 257A (Tamil Nadu Act 45 of 1994) is added in the Ninth Schedule.
77th 1995  Amended Art. 16 – Provision for reservation in matters of promotion for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to any class or classes of posts in the services under the State.
78th 1995  Items 258 to 284 added in the Ninth Schedule.
79th 1999 Amended Art. 334 – Reservation of seats SCs/STs andrepresentation of the Anglo-Indian Community in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly extended to 60 years.
80th 2000 Arts. 269 and 270 amended and Art. 272 omitted.
81st 2000  In Art. 16 new clause (4B) inserted – unfilled reserved vacancies of a year not to be considered with the vacancies of the year in which they are being filled up for determining the ceiling of 50% reservation total number of vacancies of that year.
82nd 2000 Nothing in Art. 335 shall prevent in making of any of provision in favour of the members of Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes for relaxation in qualifying marks in nay examination lowering the standard of evaluation, for reservation in matters of promotion to any class or classes of service or posts in connection with the affairs of the Union or of a State.
83rd 2000 Nothing in Art. 243D, relating to reservation of seats for the Scheduled Castes, shall apply to the State of Arunachal Pradesh.
84th 2001  Amended Arts. 55, 81, 82, 170, 330 and 332 by substituting the figures “2000” by “2026”.
85th 2001  Amended Art. 16 clause (4A)
86th 2002  Amendment Arts. 21A, 45 and 51A. Providing for free education, early childhood care, etc.
87th 2003  Amended articles 81, 82, 170 and 330, substituting 2001 for 1991 as the census year.
88th 2003  Inserted Article 268A and amended article 270 and 7th Schedule – made provision for service tax.
89th 2003  Amended article 338 and inserted new article 338A – provided separate National Commissions for SCs and STs.
90th 2003  Amended article 32 provides the protection of rights of non-tribals and the existing representation of STs and non-STs in Assam Legislative Assemblies from Bodo Territorial Council Areas.
91st 2003  Restricted the number of ministers in Centre and States upto 15% of the total number of members in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies respectively and disqualification of members of political party for appointment on remunerative political post on ground of defection. 
92nd 2003  Amended 8th schedule – Added 4 more languages viz., Bodo, Dogri, Maithili and Santhali.
93rd    Amended Art. 15 clause (5).
94th 2006 Amended Art. 164 – Subs. ‘Chattisgarh, Jharkhand’ for ‘Bihar’.
